As the Covid-19 pandemic makes students and academics to study and teach from home, CTU Library serves as students and faculty online learning support. The CTU Central Library provides many services to make your work online easier.

In order to support institutions and students moving to remote instruction & learning, many publishers are offering some or all of their e-resources freely for a period of few months.

The Central Library measures to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection

All CTU students and employees are obliged to follow  RECTOR’S ORDER no. 21/2020 On reducing the risk of coronavirus infection.

Furthermore, they must comply with the NTL regulations on measures against the spread of COVID-19 disease on the premises of the National Technical Library.


CTU Central Library (including CTU local libraries) is open from May 18th 2021 in restricted hours.

  • The reservations could be made in Library catalogue. You will receive an email as soon as the reservation is ready to pick up.

  • Check your Library Account for current status of your loans.

  • Return the books in the same library, where you borrowed them - in local libraries (FTS, FNSPE, FBME).  Books borrowed at CTU Central Library in Dejvice can be returned via Bibliobox near the NTK 3 entrance or at the main circulation desk on the 2nd floor.

  • Keep an eye on our website and Online Learning Library Support. There is 24/7 online access to e-books, e-journals and other library electronic materials.


Keep a safe distance 🕴️<-2m->🕴️ , wear a respirator😷 and use a prepared disinfectant before entering 🧤 🧴.

According to Rectors order physical presence of students in CTU buildings is allowed to students with valid negative test.

Trial is active from 1st November to 14th December.

The trial includes access to the world’s largest collection of optics and photonics applied research:

  • 445,000+ proceedings papers from SPIE conferences
  • 14,000+ presentation recording videos of research presented at SPIE conferences
  • 32,000+ journal papers from 10 SPIE journals
  • 350+ ebooks

Extended opening hours

From February 2018 is our library and study room at 5th floor open in extended oppening hours. It means that you can study, read or relax here to 10.00 P.M (only with self-service).
