The repository is an online collection of scholarly and academic outputs and is part of CTU Information Infrastructure. It is operated on open source software DSpace and integrated with some components of CTU Information System. It is being developed by CTU Central Library in cooperation with CTU Computing and Information Centre.

Digital Library contents
- Electronic texts published and produced at CTU as a result of research, educational and academic activity of the CTU academic community, available in Open Acess mode.
There are different types of documents – electronic journals published at CTU (Acta Polytechnica, etc), outputs of project Horizon 2020, certified methodology as outputs of projects NAKI, possibly educational materials, scholar publications, textbooks, conference proceedings produced not within common commercial publishing. In the case of documents published at CTU it is possible to ask for DOI indicator. - CTU thesis and dissertations imported from the Study Information System (KOS) to relevant collections of departments and institutes, the thesis was defended. Publications are made public in accordance with act No. 111/1998 Sb., on Higher Education, § 47b and in accordance with CTU Study and Examination Regulations.

Publishing outputs of research activity of CTU employees (e.g. an article, a conference paper, a book, a book chapter, report or certified methodology), imported from Current Research Information System (V3S) into the collection of CTU Publishing activity. Some outputs may be available in collections of CTU Publishing activity situated directly at author’s home workunit or department.
Documents are mostly submitted via SIS (KOS) or system CRIS (at CTU as an application V3S).The process of storing and publishing full texts via the V3S component can be found on the OpenScience portal.
Exceptionally, within Open Access publishing is possible to submit publishing outputs manually. The CTU Central Library must be consulted in advance. In that case, contact the repository administrator.
Access and repository use
The repository has an open interface. Machine processing is possible via REST API or possibly via OAI-PMH. Special rights to the database belong to CTU.
Metadata entries at CTU Digital Library website are freely available. All metadata are available for repetitive use under the Public Domain Dedication licence. These are free to use, edit and circulate. Author consent is not required and it is in accordance with all current laws and other regulations of the Czech Republic.
On the other hand full text use is set by author. If special licence is not set for end user, users may download the full text freely and save it for personal use and noncommercial purposes. Other use is possible only with author consent.
As public information are indexed in different systems it is not easy to delete them. In the case of data obtained from the source systems SIS and CRIS (KOS and V3S) the document editing must be performed directly in the source systems. Exceptionally some editing is possible to perform manually. In that case contact the repository administrator.
Global context and evaluation
Repository participation in national (NUŠL) and global structures (BASE, OpenAIRE, CORE) makes information more visible and easier to find via mentioned platforms and via Google or Google Scholar. It also helps access transparency to the results which have been produced thanks to financial support from public resources.
Three different altmetrics available for academics were implemented to the repository – PlumX, Altmetric, Dimensions. These altmetrics help evaluating communication impact of scientific publications in data digital mode, subsequently its impact on quality and effeciency of scientific research.
Given metrics mediate feedback for authors and for public on impact and use of scholarly outputs from different points of view. Using icons allows simple and clear view of key information.
Altmetrics give information only about the entries, which were given DOI.
