The final thesis (hereinafter referred to as "thesis"), i.e. bachelor's thesis, diploma thesis, dissertation, must meet the requirements of a professional text.
The aim of writing a thesis is for students to demonstrate, at the appropriate professional level, that they are able to solve and present in writing the assigned problem and to defend their own procedures. Among other things, they will show that they are familiar with the field, that they can use professional terminology correctly (see professional style for more details), work with professional information sources, cite them correctly, etc.

Before you start writing, you need to familiarise yourself with the guidelines and procedures of your faculty/university that specify the content and formalities.

Printing and binding - in case it is mandatory to submit a printed version of the thesis, the following is specified (in most cases): number of copies, printing method (single or double-sided), type of binding (hardcover, ring binding, etc.).

Tip! For binding purposes, the margins need to be set (on the left side, about 35 mm empty- for binding).

The scope of work is determined by the nature and practice of the industry. Usually a certain number of standard pages (i.e. 30 lines per page and 60 characters per line) in A4 format is required. It is a good idea to find out what is and is not included in the scope (usually the list of references and appendices are not included).

Formal requirements: for example, font type and size, including line spacing; how paragraphs should be justified and indented and the appearance of headings; how they should be numbered (chapters and subchapters, pages, figures, etc.); what rules you should follow for citations.

Tip! Some faculties have pre-made templates of the theses that you just need to fill in, or they have templates of what their theses should look like.
Writing Recommendations:
- Stick to the structure of the thesis required by your faculty. Think carefully about the outline of your thesis - the order and scope of the chapters and subchapters. It is a good idea to already take into account the figures, tables and graphs, where they will be and how much space they will take up.

- After you have finished writing, you should allow time to check the text (whether it is logically and clearly organised, correct spelling mistakes, unify the formatting, make typographical corrections) and also to print the thesis (if it is obligatory to submit a printed copy of the thesis as well).

- Why? The thesis should be of equal quality in terms of content and form. And it's a shame to get a worse grade because of formal flaws that you have the ability to control.
